Primary Classes Discover Collagraphy

In the printmaking process called Collagraphy, a printing plate is made by applying materials to paperboard or wood. The word comes from the Greek word koll or kolla, meaning glue and graph, meaning the activity of drawing.

Shapes are cut out of cardstock and glued to paperboard.
Plate is "inked" using a brayer rolled in paint.
Paper is put onto the printing plate and pressure is applied with fingertips.
Print is lifted
and signed.
