Learning Art History & Making Prints

In art class, the children have been learning about the history of printing and printmaking. From ancient Sumerian cylindrical seals to Johannes Gutenberg's printing press and the fine art etchings of Albrecht Durer, classes are learning that people have been making prints and refining the process for a very long time.

Throughout December, the children are continuing to explore printmaking as they practice monoprinting, develop original printing plates, and create relief prints with texture, stamps and stencils.
