Printmaking Inspired by Nature

Albrecht Durer's Rhinoceros, woodcut with leaf prints, 1515
As we move into the second quarter of our school year, we will be practicing a variety of printmaking processes in the art room. This week, the children were introduced to relief printing, intaglio, planography and stenciling. Then, we brought nature indoors as we used a variety of fallen leaves to create leaf prints and practice the process of relief printing.
